Football
Dès mon plus jeune âge le football a été une passion au grand désespoir de mes parents et de mes professeurs. Comme la plupart des enfants du Nord de l’après-guerre nous ne disposions pas en classes primaires de terrain de foot mais d’un espace dans lequel nous installions nos pulls sous un caillou pour former les buts. Des années plus tard j’ai retrouvé dans de nombreux pays ces installations fantaisistes où régnait la même joie de jouer.
Je suis fasciné par ces terrains parsemés de gros pavés ou parfois même d’un baobab avec, en guise de but, trois troncs d'arbres ou trois bambous
Chaque fois que j’en ai eu l’opportunité je me suis arrêté et, foot et photos confondus, j’ai pris conscience que le but était un cadre et qu’à l’intérieur de ce cadre on pouvait, certes loger un ballon mais aussi découvrir une photo.

Football (Soccer)
Starting at a very young age, I became passionate about football, much to the despair of my parents and teachers. As was the case for the majority of children in post-war northern France, we grade schoolers did not have football fields but just a patch of earth where we placed our pullovers under stones to stand for the goal. Years later and throughout numerous countries, I rediscovered these fanciful installations brimming with the same joy of play. These fields fascinate me, dotted with stones or sometimes even with a baobab and on which three tree trunks or three bamboos serve as goal.
Whenever I had the opportunity, I lingered there and, mixing football with photography, I became conscious that the goal was a frame and that inside this frame you could place a ball or discover a picture.
